What are Sight Words?
Sight words, or Dolch words, are words that do not follow phonetic patterns. Therefore, they cannot be sounded out and have to be memorized instead. These words appear in all of the books that your child will be reading this year. It is important for your child to be able to read these words to continue to grow as a reader this year.
