Are you ready to make your own Animoto? Want to learn more about the software or how you could use it in the classroom?
Animoto is a web tool that allows users to easily create videos using images, video clips, text, and music. Creating an Animoto project is actually quite simple, as you choose a layout and background music to go along with your pictures and video clips. Then, Animoto does all the work for you! No two projects will be alike, as you can choose from a wide variety of interactive layouts and music. Each layout option provides you with a sample video to gain inspiration for music and to see how your images and text would look in the finished product. Throughout the creation of your project, you can also preview the final product and make changes as needed.
My Animoto was an autobiography about myself. I could use this video to introduce myself to my students at the beginning of the year. I would likely make the video more first-grade friendly before sharing it with my students. This could be accomplished my including some different topics, such as: my favorite picture book, my favorite subject, etc. I could then have my students share something about themselves by creating either a class Animoto autobiography or individual autobiographies, depending on how comfortable they are with the software.
